I feel betrayed. Blanc moved. The best burgers in Kansas City are no longer around the corner from me. This is good news for any of the suburbanites who were too afraid of being shot in Westport to get the most delicious burger and finest beer-battered onion rings money can buy.
Also, this leaves a big gaping hole in Westport. The closing of Starbucks, that one pizza place, and the always empty Blaney’s makes four consecutive vacant spaces. However, the night life is still surprisingly hopping.
They only moved down to the Plaza. Something about a landlord/rent issue. Also, go across the street. I think The Foundry’s burgers are better anyway.
The Foundry loses all burger cred for getting rid of their Juicy Lucy.
Blanc moved because they wanted more space, which they clearly needed. Uno couldn’t keep up with their rent on the Plaza, so Blanc is filling that space. The grand opening is Thursday night (Feb 11).
