Up until last night, I was completely unaware of the event known as Movember.  Men all around the world are encouraged to shave their face clean on Saturday, November 1 and then grow out their facial hair, especially a moustache over the entire course of November.

All of this is done and support of men’s health and raising awareness of prostate cancer.  You can register on the Movember website and even start a team to try and raise funds.  This is something I really want to do.

You see, my dad has a moustache.  My dad also came over to our house a few weeks back to tell us he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  They caught it fairly early, so we all have high hopes, but he is going under the knife in mid-November.  It all just seems to fit together in a humble effort to honor a great man.

My facial hair is pitiful, but I am going to give this my all.  Saturday I will be shaving off my scraggly soul patch and starting fresh to celebrate Movember.  I encourage you to do the same.  If you are interested in joining my team, please get in contact with me here.  Thanks
